Hi, my name is David A. Clay. I am a southern gospel soloist who loves to share the message of God’s love and the salvation found in Jesus Christ wherever the Lord may lead. In addition to singing, I am also blessed to be an ordained minister and able to preach the word. My main focus and goal, first and foremost, is to see lost souls saved. Secondly, it is my desire to uplift and strengthen the church. As I strive to follow and adhere to the guidance I get from God’s word, it is also my desire to be in the center of His will and to be led by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost in all aspects of this ministry.

Let me give you a little background on myself and what led me to this point in my life and ministry. As a young boy, I grew up in a small town in southern California. While I didn’t go to church much, I was blessed and very fortunate to have a mother and father who loved me, provided for me and taught me right from wrong. They also taught me to believe in God, respect others and treat people right. It was at the ripe young age of 15 that we packed up everything we had, said goodbye to California and moved to Georgia. It was then that I started going to church and realizing that a good life and true happiness are only found in Jesus Christ. I don’t recall the exact date but I can take you to the church, show you where I was sitting, tell you who I was sitting with and who was preaching on the night I gave my heart to Jesus. I remember hearing the people rejoicing and praising God and I wanted what they had. Today I have that happiness. I’ve not made every step just right since then, but I thank God he has a long arm of love and mercy and that he didn’t allow me to stray too far away. I rejoice and praise God for his goodness and the many blessings he has bestowed upon me and my family.

I have been singing gospel music for over 10 years. I started out singing occasionally with my family and sometimes by myself in church as a teenager. As I got older, I was enticed by things of the world and started straying away from church. Eventually and unfortunately, I allowed sin to take such a hold on me that I left the church. I even deceived myself into thinking that some of the sinful things I was doing were alright as long as I didn’t harm anybody else. I didn’t realize the harm I was doing to myself. I thank God he showed me mercy to find my way back home. In January of 2000, I realized that God had truly given me a talent to sing so I started using that talent to be a blessing to others. What a blessing it has been to me to see others encouraged and uplifted through the gospel in a song.

It was my privilege for 10 months to travel and sing as a member of a mixed quartet, Sounds of Grace Ministries of Claremont, NC. I have also had the distinct privilege of singing on a few occasions with Driven Quartet (as part of the Seek the Lost Tour), One Voice Trio, the Gospelaires and the Cerces. The Lord has blessed me to be able to sing in several different states over the past few years. It has been my honor to be able to sing in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. I must give God all the praise and glory for each opportunity he has given me.

Thank you for taking your time to read this information. I sincerely hope and pray that this ministry can somehow be a blessing to you and to others. After all, it is all about sharing the good news of God’s love and the salvation found in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God richly bless you and yours.
